Passionate about digital photography – Exhibited my images in a number of art galleries in the Washington, DC Metro area – Volunteered to mentor high school kids during a photojournalism expedition in Ethiopia, Africa – Editorial Photo Editor and Photo Librarian with interest in web development, coding, and graphic design.
The most memorable time of my career was when I toured Ethiopia with a non-profit organization called The Africa Project http://africaproject.com/events. We mentored nine inner-city photojournalism high school students for two weeks with the director of the program, Mr. Clarence Davis. Most of the kids had never traveled abroad and Africa was a dream come true. The goal of The Africa Project was to give inner-city youth an opportunity to explore new worlds, gain a better sense of African culture, and their own heritage. The students were trained extensively in photojournalism and taught the latest photographic techniques, news judgement, and professional ethics. Here is a peak of what I captured through the lens of my camera. I hope you enjoy!
